Grading your Tennis Gamae for our format:
San Jose Tennis Courts, NYC Tennis Courts, Richmond Tennis Courts

NTRP Rating Written Description and League Comments

1.5 – 2.0 You describe yourself as a beginner. You do know how to serve and return points but you haven’t got any game consistency. You hopefully have figured how to keep score. You basically know the game and desire to meet up with other people who have the same love.

2.5 Requires on-tennis court tennis experience. Has tennis stroke failings but is use to with standard positions for singles and doubles play. 2.5 Learning to judge where the ball is going although tennis court coverage is less than adequate. Can keep a little rally of easy pace with other tennis players of the same skill level.

3.0 Moderately consistent when hitting mid-paced tennis shots, but is not comfortable with all strokes and misses execution when seeking for guiding control, depth or might.

3.25 You’re in-between 3.0 and 3.5 Skill rating.

3.5 Has achieved improved stroke dependability with leading control on light tennis shots, but still lacks depth and mixture. Starting to display more competitive net play, has improved tennis court coverage.

3.75 You’re in-between 3.5 and 4.0 Skill rating.
Comments: Advanced2 Skill Level, This skill level appears when the city’s league is large enough and we have enough returning players. The addition of this division allows the league to fine tune the skill levels and the matches tend to be closer. Playoff qualifiers play in the Advanced playoffs.

4.0 Has dependable strokes, including directional control and depth on both forehand and backhand sides on light tennis shots, plus the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach tennis shots and volleys with some success. From Time to Time pulls errors when serving. Rallies may be lost due to impatience.

4.5 Starting to master the use of power and spins and beginning to handle pace, has good footwork, can control depth of strokes and is beginning to vary game plan according to opponents. Can hit first serves with power and accuracy and place the second serve. Tends to over hit on difficult strokes.
