Wind Power Consumes no Fuel

March 6th, 2010

Wind power consumes no fuel for continuing operation, and has no emissions directly related to electricity production. Given this information, you are probably imagining building a lot of turbines in your house. Of course not! All you need is one single wind generator. Residential wind turbines are the answer to save serious money on your utility bill. These turbines transform the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy that can be harnessed for practical use. I’ve recently constructed 2 of these and will be putting up 2 more this weekend; needless to say I’m impressed! You will need:A workspace (a garage is perfect!) Simple tools (such as a screwdriver, nothing too fancy!) Someone to help out for a couple of steps (just holding things, great to get the kids involved!) A good set of wind turbine plans To start if you have gotten a good set of plans you should have a list of all needed materials, and the cheapest places around to order them all. Make sure to order that DC motor ASAP, it will probably take a couple of days to arrive and I know you’re eager to get started! The blades will make your motor turn over, and this is where you get your electricity from.It makes a great do it yourself project, especially one for the whole family to enjoy. There are also many benefits to building one, such as:- Help conserve energy by using natural power. Wind power is a renewable resource, so your wind turbine can generate power for many years.- Fun for the family, or fun for yourself! How many people do you know who can say they use wind power to help power things around there home?- Excellent way to join the ‘going green’ movement.
