Mark Ronson Pays Tribute
September 2nd, 2010Super-producer Mark Ronson has paid tribute to his good friend, the late turntablist DJ AM. He told Spinner Mag: “I believe he essentially invented a complete kind of DJing. He was the first one to have kind of these DJ battle-level abilities and could still just kill a party and had such a superb taste, a large range of taste.
“He was just about the best club DJ I’ve ever seen. There could be other DJs that I like their taste, or I might dance to more, but as far as like, ‘Holy s—, wow, ‘ and beyond that he just was a great pal. He was so supportive too he would always do what he could to help me break records when nobody was playing any of my s-hit and screaming out Rehabilitation in Us Mag when they’d have his playlist and whatever it was, he was merely an awe-inspiring dude. “His bequest is, he took DJing in another direction and now you have all of these young children that will scratch and bust their ass practicing to be sure they can scratch, and also play a large range of stuff. I don’t believe anyone’s touching him but I believe it’s definitely definite the sort of influence he is had.” DJ AM died following an overdose in August of 2009. In other story, Mark Ronson Admits To Glee Club Past.
Ronson, who recently dyed his hair peroxide blonde, said to the Sun: “I sang in this actually cheesy group called The Vocal Jazz Ensemble which was extraordinarily humiliating. “It was like Glee with less dancing and smiling.” The ‘Bang, Bang, Bang ‘ star claimed that he likes Glee but excluded a walk-on appearance, announcing ( properly ) that he is not any where near famous enough. “I actually like that show,” he explains. “I watched it expecting to detest it. “I don’t believe any person knows who I am in Glee to deserve a cameo but they did do Rehabilitation in the 1st episode which was a genuine kudos”.
